Artistic Statement
As a theatre-maker, I hold deep reverence for theatre, its history, structure, and profound power to connect. I am especially drawn to classical musical theatre, not to preserve it in amber but to breathe fresh life into its foundations by welcoming new perspectives, diverse voices, and contemporary relevance. Equally, I am passionate about championing new works that expand the stories we tell and reflect the world we live in.
My background in dance and ensemble work shapes my vision of the stage as a space of rhythm, movement, and collective storytelling. I believe theatre thrives in collaboration and community, where shared experience becomes a catalyst for empathy and understanding. At its heart, directing is listening—listening to the story, the artists, and the cultural moment we inhabit.
Rooted in grassroots artistry, I value creating opportunities for voices historically excluded from the conversation. I am committed to cultivating inclusive spaces where every artist feels seen, heard, and empowered to shape the narrative.
For me, directing is both reverence and reinvention. It is a bridge between past and future through thoughtful, transformative storytelling that invites us all in and builds community.
